Auction of Visvaldis Reinholds Artwork
The Latvian National Federation in Canada is offering at auction one of Visvaldis Reinholds’ unique works of art in metal, entitled „Sens mantojums”, or „Ancient Heritage” (150 x 40 cm in length and approximately 12 cm in depth, weighing 16.4 kg). Starting bid at $2,200. The revenue generated by the sale if this item will benefit in funding the expenses related to the „Piemini Abreni” (Remember Abrene) youth competition.
Visvaldis Reinholds is a very well-known and highly respected Latvian-Canadian artist. Having graduated from the Ontario Arts College with a gold medal, he is known for his use of a wide range of techniques and unusual approaches, especially in his use of metal. One of his larger pieces is displayed at the Hamilton Place Concert Hall. His works of art can be found in several museums worldwide and are in great demand by private collectors. A critic once said of him, „Reinhold is the poet and tale-teller of seasons’ changes, harmony and beauty”.
